What's Brewing in the Soup Pot

"Fool for Love"

Eddie can’t live with May but he can’t live without her, and May almost simultaneously throws Eddie out and begs him not to leave…what better way to capture the paradox of sexual attraction as freely chosen and yet ruthlessly fated.

Stone Soup Theatre brings this haunting story, arguably Shepard’s best known play, to the stage this February. Fool for Love is a story of obsession, love, denial, and the relationship between two people who can’t live with or without each other.

Starring Annie Lareau as May and Anders Bolang as Eddie, and directed by Charlotte Tiencken, the story of two lovers who try to come to terms with their past is riveting and horrific, funny and bitter. Sex, love, hate, passion and jealousy are all here. The New York Times called Fool for Love “a western for our time. We watch a pair of figurative gunslingers fight to the finish- not with bullets, but with piercing words that give ballast to the weight of a nation’s buried dreams.” Don’t miss this little-produced one-act in an intimate setting.

"The Vagina Monologues"
10th Anniversary Edition

by
Eve Ensler

Directed by Tryone Brown

Stone Soup Theatre first presented the Vagina Monologues in 2004. A hugely successful run ended 4 months after opening. We will re-stage this groundbreaking look at women and sexuality with the five new monologues that have been added as a result of V-day celebrations across the country. We welcome Tyrone Brown as director to this amazing movement to end violence against women. Witty and irreverent, compassionate and wise, giving voice to women’s deepest feelings.
