Summer Programs

Stone Soup's Summer Camps will be taking place in two parks from June 28 through August 27. Below is some important information about the camps. Here are some links you may find helpful:

When?
June 28-August 27, Monday-Friday 9am-12pm & 9am-2pm (9am-12pm 5-7 & 3-4 yrs only)

Where?
Wallingford Location - The gazebo in Meridian Park (part of the Good Shepherd Center located at 4649 Sunnyside)
Seward Park Location - Follow Lake Washington Blvd (south of Leschi) Enter park and go to the amphitheater near picnic area number 5.
Stone Soup's DownStage Space - 4029 Stone Way North.

When should I be there?
An adult will be present by 8:45 each morning.

How much is tuition?
$160 for one-week camp - half-day (ages 3-4 and 5-7 only)
$240 for one-week camp - full-day.
$420 for two-week camp - full day ($60 savings!)
Tuition for all camps must be paid in full by June 22nd. Prices include registration.

How do I register?
Click here to register online now with a credit card. Within one week you will receive a phone call confirming registration. One week before camp, you will receive an email with more detailed information.

Cancellation Policies
If you cancel your registration two weeks before the class begins, we will refund 50% of total tuition paid. If you cancel less than two weeks prior to class, no refund or credit will be given.

No refunds on Aftercare once camps have begun. (June 28th)

How large is each camp?
Class size for all groups is limited to 20 students

Does my child need to be a performer to participate?
Absolutely not. Willingness, energy and desire are what is needed.

What about lunch?
Students need to bring a snack, a substantial lunch, and plenty of water. Sunglasses and sun screen are always good, too!

Safety?
There will be two adults overseeing each camp. Ages 3-9 will be accompanied to the bathroom by one of the adults.

Does Stone Soup have extended care?
Yes, at the wallingford Location only, next door at the Meridian School. Cost is $55.00 for AM or PM. $90 for both. Contact Doug Coppinger at dcoppinger@meridianschool.edu or call (206)632-7154 for application. They will process your registration. Processing requires one week!! No exceptions!!

Stone Soup Policies?
A 50% deposit will hold your spot in the camp. Tuition due must be paid in full anytime between registration and June 28th. A $30.00 service charge will be attached to any checks returned by the bank.

Important Information

  • Half-day camps are improvisational and do not require reading ability.
  • Full-day camps DO require reading skills and memorization of 30 min. scripts.
  • It is better to select a camp according to reading level and maturity rather than actual age.

A limited number of camps will be offered at one-half scholarship for single parents.

Kids love to play superheroes! Each day we will learn about both real and fictional superheroes and then become them within our very own (non-violent) hero adventure stories. Little ones will learn physical and vocal control as well as problem-solving skills all in the name of play.

5-7 year olds: Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat will be brought to life for the stage using improvisational games, storytelling, movement and music. Join us! 6-9 year olds will perform an original script of the super silly, fantastical world Dr. Seuss created using favorite characters and stories.

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (Musical) (Ages 5-7 & 6-9)

5-7 year olds will improvise their way to the land of Narnia and discover their own musical land hidden inside the wardrobe. 6-9 year olds will perform a 25-minute script (with songs). We will watch the wardrobe take on a life of its own as the evil white witch is replaced by the king.
