Summer Programs

Stone Soup's Summer Camps will be taking place in three parks from June 25 through August 31. Below is some important information about the camps. Here are some links you may find helpful:


Summer Camp 2011

When?
June 25-August 31, Monday-Friday 9am-12pm & 9am-2pm (9am-12pm 5-7 & 3-4 yrs only)

Where?
Wallingford Location - The gazebo in Meridian Park (part of the Good Shepherd Center located at 4649 Sunnyside).
Jefferson Park - 3801 Beacon Ave. S., Just past the community center in the NW Corner of the park next to the mountain playground.
Stone Soup's DownStage Space - 4029 Stone Way North.
Marymoor Park - 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE. In the Velodrome open area, close to the climbing rock, Parking Lot I.

When should I be there?
An adult will be present by 8:45 each morning.

How much is tuition?
$160 for half-day (ages 3-4 and 5-7 only)
$245 for full-day.
Tuition for all camps must be paid in full by June 25th. Prices include registration.

How do I register?
Click here to register online now with a credit card. Within one week you will receive an email confirming registration. One week before camp, you will receive an email with more detailed information.

Cancellation Policies
If you cancel your registration two weeks before the class begins, we will refund 50% of total tuition paid. If you cancel less than two weeks prior to class, no refund or credit will be given.

No refunds on Aftercare once camps have begun. (June 25th)

How large is each camp?
Class size for all groups is limited to 20 students.

Does my child need to be a performer to participate?
Absolutely not. Willingness, energy and desire are what is needed.

What about lunch?
Students need to bring a snack, a substantial lunch, and plenty of water. Sunglasses and sun screen are always good, too!

Safety?
There will be two adults overseeing each camp. 3-9 year-olds are accompanied to the bathroom by one of the adults.

Does Stone Soup have extended care?
Wallingford: next door at the Meridian School. Cost is $55 for AM or PM. $90 for both. Contact Doug Coppinger at dcoppinger@meridianschool.edu or call (206)632-7154 for application. They will contact you to process registration. Processing requires one week!! No exceptions!! For full-day campers only.

Stone Soup Policies?
A 50% deposit will hold your spot in the camp. Tuition due must be paid in full anytime between registration and June 25th. A $30.00 service charge will be attached to any checks returned by the bank.

Important Information

  • Half-day camps are improvisational and do not require reading ability.
  • Full-day camps DO require reading skills and memorization of 30 min. scripts.
  • It is better to select a camp according to reading level and maturity rather than actual age.

2-parent families who have one parent out of work:

  • A $245 Camp is $200
  • A $160 Camp is $120

Do you have a tiny tot singing into hairbrushes or dancing in the grocery store? Let their inner diva shine in this musical theater class designed for preschoolers. They will get to jump into a storybook adventure complete with crazy characters, fun settings and popular songs like "The Bare Necessities" and "Everybody Wants to be a Cat." Your little stars will shine as we share our favorite songs and adventures on the last day.

Blast off on a fast-paced adventure in space! Speed racing astronaut Jackie's rocket has been stolen and she needs your help! Students will navigate through space, talk to aliens and learn about the galaxy in order to help Jackie get her rocket back. Students will play games, read stories and sing songs while learning about planets, black holes and asteroids. Young performers learn the basics of how to create a character as they work as individuals and cooperatively in this super fun, high-energy class.

Mosey on over to the farm where the cows, chickens, horses and mischievous Duck are causing trouble. Duck has been typing notes requesting electric blankets, pizza, a diving board for the pond and much more! Recreate this story with drama, art and music along with many other farmyard fables that will get you to "Giggle Giggle Quack!"

Discover the hundred acre woods with an improvisational adventure! Jump around with Tigger, find the North Pole with Christopher Robin, search for Eyeore's missing tail and eat honey with Winnie the Pooh. Every day we will make art, sing songs and go on an adventure featuring a different story from Winnie the Pooh and the House on Pooh corner by A.A. Milne.

James & the Giant Peach (6-9)

Climb inside a giant peach with James and his insect friends Centipede, Glow Worm, Grasshopper, Mrs. Spider and many more! We will escape from the dreadful aunts Sponge and Spiker, roll down a hill, float in an ocean, fly over New York City and land in Central Park. The script is written espcially for young students with dynamic action scenes, group lines and fun characters.

He grows up valiantly as he saves his mother's honor, the beautiful Andromeda from being eaten by a sea monster, with time left over to kill the snake-headed Medusa.
