It's been 15 years since Stone Soup held its first theatre education classes in North Seattle. In that time, we have worked with more than 10,000 theatre students–of all ages–all looking to expand their creative potential with our professional teaching artists. We've also welcomed over 16,000 audience members into our Wallingford home to see plays as varied and wonderful as Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, Sam Sheppard's Fool for Love, Paula Vogel's How I Learned to Drive, and our annual holiday classic, A Child's Christmas in Wales.
Let’s travel back these last three years with the magic of the DownStage fresh in our minds. Great memories of productions created also bring the burden of increased salaries, rents, taxes and risks inherent in producing in a challenged economy. Over the years we consistently find the price of the ticket just does not seem cover the cost of each show. We continue to grow under very tough circumstances and remain to this day in the black. But growth comes at a price, and as such, we extend you the opportunity to collaborate with us: help see Stone Soup through to the next show, the next season by relieving some of the financial pressure and allowing us to do what we do best: create!
The 2011-12 season launches a campaign allowing you to proudly partner with us (and attempt to keep ticketing costs down!) by contributing a little something to our steaming soup pot and partaking of the rich stew we create together. As the saying goes, “it takes a village”. The future of Stone Soup depends on and needs you! Partner with us by donating your cash, goods or time. The opportunities are waiting – we’d love to have you!
It has been our goal since our inception in 1996 to be a theatre that caters to the Fremont/Wallingford neighborhood and our door is always open for you to be a part of our continued growth.
Contribution Opportunities:
In addition, depending on the size of your donation, there are opportunities for naming - we've got lots of chairs, $100, for example, puts your name or the name of a theatre-going loved one on the back of one of them. What a great holiday gift for the theatre patron who has everything!

We also are looking for skilled help of all varieties. From mending holes in costumes, to envelope stuffing to minding small children, we need you! Please call (206) 633 - 1883 or email Volunteer Coordinator Savannah Baltazar at office@stonesouptheatre.org if you'd like to help. We have internships and work/trade opportunities available, in addition to good old volunteering for the fun of it!
